Applications are invited for the following Scholarships and Awards offered by the NPL-Former Scientists Forum for the year 2022.
- i) The children of all the NPL employees and Grand children (direct descendants) of members of NPL-FSF are eligible to apply.
- ii) Special Scholarships [See S-(6A) and S-(6B)] will also be given to children of NPL employees, who have unfortunately expired during the service period, for continuing their education.
Scholarships
S-(1) AKCSC – ASTRONAUT KALPANA CHAWLA SAMMAN CHHATRAVRITTI (SCHOLARSHIPS (2022)
(For studying Science in CLASS XI & XII)
Initiated by: (Late) Sh. Dev Kumar, Retired Under Secretary CSIR, in memory of his Parents (Shri Khushi Ram Ji & Radha Bai Ji).
Amount: Rs. 500/- p.m., to two children
S-(2) AJ MS – ASHUTOSH JOSHI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (2022)
(For studying in class VII and VIII)
Initiated by: Prof. Shri Krishna Joshi, Former DG, CSIR, in memory of his Son, Sh. Ashutosh Joshi.
Amount: Rs. 300/- p.m. to one child (Preferably to economically weaker category).
S-(3) UVCLVMS – URMIL VERMA AND C L VERMA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (2022)
(For studying in class IX and X)
Initiated by: Sh. Rajeev Verma, in the memory of his Mother (Late) Smt. Urmil Verma and Father Sh. Chiranji Lal Verma ex- Scientist ‘EI’ and member NPL-FSF.
Amount: Rs. 300/- p.m. during class IX and 400/- p.m. during class X class X to one child.
S-(4) BAWA – Bawa Barkha Nath Memorial Scholarship (2022)
(For studying in a degree Course in Engineering/Medical/M.Sc)
Initiated by: Sh. Ram Krishan Luthra, Ex Scientist ‘F’ and a Member of NPL-FSF.
Amount: Rs. 500/-p.m. to two children for pursuing degree course in Science/ Engineering/ Medical
S-(5) RNLS – Ram Naresh Lal Scholarship (2022)
(For studying Science in CLASS XI & XII)
Initiated by: Dr. Virendra Shankar, Chief Scientist, NPL in the name of his Father.
Amount: Rs. 500/- p.m., to one child.
S – (6) For children of Expired Staff members
S-(6A) FSFS – NPL-FSF Scholarships
(For School going children of staff Members of NPL who had expired during service of the Laboratory)
Amount : Rs.300/- p.m. for 2 Children – Class I to V and Rs. 400/- p.m. for 2 children – Class VI to Class XII
S-(6B) PCJS – P.C. Jain – Scholarships
(For School going children of staff Members of NPL who had expired during service of the Laboratory)
Amount : Rs.300/- p.m. for 1 child

Initiated by: Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Former Director, Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, (AMPRI), Bhopal, in memory of his Father Sh. L S Gupta.

Initiated by: (Late) Smt. Sushila Verma in memory of her husband, Sh. Mulk Raj Verma, Retired Scientist NPL.
Amount: Rs 2000/- will be awarded to one child.

Initiated by: Dr. Prakash Chandra Jain, Ex Scientist ‘E-II’, NPL, in memory of his Wife, Mrs. Vina Jain.
Amount: Rs 2000/- will be awarded to one child.

Initiated by: Mrs. Madhu Lata, in memory of her Husband, (Late) Shri Dev Kumar.

(For securing highest marks in Physics or Chemistry or Biology in Class XI, XII CBSE/CISCE)
Initiated by: (Late) Sh. Radhey Kishen Khanna , Ex Technical Officer NPL, in memory of his daughter Smt. Poonam Chadha.
Amount: Rs 3000/– will be awarded to one child.

(For securing highest aggregate marks in Class XI, XII CBSE/CISCE, among applicants)
Initiated by: Sh. Rajeev Verma s/o (Late) Sh. Chiranji Lal Verma, in the memory of his Grand Mother Ramo Devi and Grand Father Sohan Lal.

(For securing highest marks in Physics or Chemistry or Biology in Class XI, XII CBSE/CISCE)
Initiated by: (Late) Prof. Suresh Chand Jain, Former Director, SSPL Delhi in memory of his wife, Mrs. Sudha Jain.
Amount: Rs. 3000/- will be awarded to one child.
A-11 SSA – SAVITA SINGAL AWARD (2022)
(For admission in a science/engineering/medical degree/ Professional Diploma course)
Initiated by: Sh. Sohan Lal Gupta, Former Sr. Personal Assistant NPL, in the name of his Daughter, Dr. Savita Singal.
Amount: Rs. 5000/- will be awarded to one child.
A-12 ARVMA – A R VERMA MEMORIAL AWARD (2022)
(For admission in a science/engineering/medical degree/ Professional Diploma course)
Initiated by: NPL-FSF in memory of Late Prof. A.R.Verma, Former Director NPL, and Patron NPL-FSF.
Amount: Rs. 5000/- will be awarded to one child
TERMS & CONDITIONS
AWARDS
* The basis of selection will be his/her securing the highest aggregate marks in the relevant class VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII examination
of the CBSE/CISCE (2022), as the case may be, among the applicants in the merit list prepared by the Scholarships & Awards Committee.
* The child should have obtained at least 60% marks in the relevant subject(s) or Children getting admission in a science/engineering/medical
degree/ Professional Diploma course
* Proof of continuing further studies in the science stream is to be submitted.
* The decision of the Scholarships & Awards Committee will be final.
SCHOLARSHIPS
* (Other than S-(6)(A) the basis will be their performance in respective examinations of the CBSE/ /CISCE / B.Sc (2022), as the case may be, as per the merit list prepared by the Scholarships & Awards Committee. For S-(2), the basis will be preferably for the needy candidates.
* The candidate should have obtained at least 60% marks in the relevant subject(s).
* Proof of continuing further studies in the science stream is to be submitted.
* The tenure of all Scholarships will be for one year, and the continuation of the scholarship in each year after the award of the scholarship, a candidate has to apply afresh and will be based on the marks obtained in the final examination every year, which should not be less than 60 . Attested photocopy of the/ original mark-sheet of the examination will be required to be sent to the Convener of the Scholarships & Awards Committee for scrutiny.
* The decision of the Scholarships & Awards Committee will be final.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
* Attested Photocopy of Mark-sheet of previous Class of a recognized school or class XII/X CBSE/CISCE/B.Sc. Examination 2022 of the
candidate, as the case may be. The original Mark-sheet will be required at the time of scrutiny of the applications.
* Proof of continuing his/her further studies in the science stream. Original will be required at the time of scrutiny.
* Declaration that the child is not getting a scholarship from any other source.
* Particulars of service at NPL with residential Address and Telephone / Mobile No. etc. of the applicant, and in the case of Grand Child of NPL-FSF member similar particulars of the parent may be given. The relation of the child with the NPL-FSF member should be given.
HOW TO APPLY
* Application may be submitted on plain paper by the parent in case of NPL employee or by the Member of NPL-FSF, for his
Grand Child, to the ‘President, NPL Former Scientists Forum’, along with required documents.
* The envelope should be marked NPL-FSF Scholarships & Awards – 2022.

. Applications on plain paper should be submitted on or before 15th September 2022.

The Awards & Scholarships will be presented on or around the CSIR Foundation Day (26.09. 2022 Celebrations at, CSIR-NPL), by the Director, NPL.
